company history
Founded in the 1930s, the company manufactured screw thread components out of central Nottingham, and then in 1947 this expertise was used to satisfy a demand for jacks within the rapidly growing automotive industry.

The product was so successful that demand soon exceeded production capacity and so in 1967 the company relocated to its current production site at Mansfield Road, Redhill, Nottingham.

To compliment design evolution that introduced pantograph and Y type jacks, Magal Metallifacture Limited became virtually self sufficient in 1974 after acquiring its own pressing division.

Subsequent years saw manufacturing output continue to increase until in 1989 the company recorded its first ever production of 2 million jacks in one year.

The period to date has seen further increased output and an expansion to the product range including the design and manufacture of Tyre Carriers (spare wheel winches) commencing in 1992.

Our service to the Automotive Industry has also been rewarded during this era with the following customer quality awards:

GM Supplier of the Year 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 & 1997.
Rover Silver Award 1996
Honda Supplier of the Year 1997
